2023 is Trending Vinyl- the classic porcelain and ceramic tile; a look alike dupe?

Stone look vinyl is now an option to achieve a beautiful, durable, realistic stone look similar to porcelain and ceramic tile. New technology allows for Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT’s) to mimic the look of gorgeous, timeless natural stone and since vinyl is know for it versatility in looks – focusing on wood laminate is a trend of the past.

2023 Stone-Vinyl Dupes

  • Marble: Always chic, beautiful and timeless. While marble downside is known for being soft and porous. Hard to compare this natural stone to Luxury Vinyl Tiles particularly the Carrara marble. Marble is a look that will never go out of style.
  • Limestone: Unique in color texture and hardness, the natural patterns of limestone are highly sought-after for a high end- custom look. However classy, a natural stone that can require sealers and is also used outdoors.
  • Travertine: Travertine is the classic floor of ancient built architecture and modern day often looked at as outdated no longer a good choice, but this is far from true. Travertine tiles and pavers are trending and being used in modern construction projects. The appeal of their proven durability and long-lasting beauty boasts it’s increasing in popularity for 2023.
  • Slate: Sharp and contemporary metamorphic rock that was formed within the earth. This resulted in a material that is extremely hard, resistant to scrapes, scratches, and dents for both indoor and outdoor use.
  • Porcelain: While vinyl tile is much more cost effective, both are extremely durable. Porcelain is the best choice for installation on balconies, patios porcelain tile is the best choice by far for installation on balconies, patios, and more

For what it’s worth- LVT’s can offer the look and lower maintenance at a fraction of the cost.
However, natural stone flooring is more versatile than luxury vinyl when it comes to design. Stone can be used in ways that luxury vinyl can’t such as the design of a custom pattern in your floor using stone tiles- as easily accomplished with luxury vinyl tiles.
